The Taiwan Constitutional Court sincerely welcomes the visit of Prof. Dr. Dainius Žalimas (Former President of the Constitutional Court of Lithuania) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ingrida Danėlienė.
On December 13 and 14, 2022, the Judicial Yuan and the Taiwan Constitutional Court(TCC) welcomed the visit of Prof. Dr. Dainius Žalimas (Dean of the Faculty of Law, Vytautus Magnus University, VMU; the former President of the Constitutional Court of Lithuania, 2014-2021) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ingrida Danėlienė (Head of the Social Science Department, European Humanities University, EHU).
During their visit, Dr. Žalimas delivered a speech on “The Practice of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania and Its Leading Cases”, which he concluded by commending the TCC’s Judicial Activism in safeguarding the constitutional order of liberal democracy, and wishing the TCC success in maintaining the highest professional standard in its activities. Dr. Danėlienė delivered a speech on “Evolving Powers of the Constitutional Courts”, during which she exchanged views with the audience and welcomed future academic exchanges between Taiwanese Judiciaries and the EHU.
Dr. Žalimas also brought with him a MoU on behalf of the Vytautus Magnus University, which was signed and completed during his stay. This MoU intends to strengthen bilateral relationship between the Judges Academy (ROC) and VMU, in order to deepen the interactions between academics and judiciaries of both Taiwan and Lithuania.
