Director General Karsten Tietz Led a Delegation from the German Institute Taipei on a Visit to the Judicial Yuan
Director General Karsten Tietz, Division Chief Leila Schneider, and Deputy Division Chief Jia-Ling Zhang from the German Institute Taipei visited the Judicial Yuan on February 24, 2026. The group was received by Acting President Ming-Yan Shieh, accompanied by Secretary-General Chin-Chih Kao and Director-General Ding-Yah Wu of the Public Information Department. Acting President Shieh began by introducing Taiwan’s current judicial system to the guests. In turn, Director General Tietz shared the selection process for justices of Germany’s Federal Constitutional Court. The two sides then engaged in extensive discussions on current challenges faced by both countries, including AI development and threats posed by fake news, as well as their corresponding response strategies. The meeting concluded successfully in a cordial atmosphere.
