Sophia Lee, Dean of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, Led a Delegation to Visit the Judicial Yuan

On November 13, 2025, Dean Sophia Lee of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and Executive Director of Development Beth Gregg visited the Judicial Yuan and were received by Acting President of the Judicial Yuan Ming-Yan Shieh. He was accompanied by Justice Fu-Meei Ju, President Sheng-Hsin Chang of the Judges Academy, Director-General Bih-Huey Hsu of the Clerk Department of the Constitutional Court, and Director-General Yi-Yi Chen of the Department of Administrative Litigation and Discipline. Patent Attorney Chao-Ming Chen served as the interpreter for the meeting.
Acting President Ming-Yan Shieh first gave an overview of Taiwan's judicial system and its operations. President Sheng-Hsin Chang then briefed the visitors on the Judges Academy's cooperation with numerous prestigious universities and institutions worldwide. The cooperation includes sending outstanding judges abroad for advanced training and specific research to enhance judges' expertise in adjudication and broaden their international perspectives. The two sides also exchanged opinions on how artificial intelligence influences and impacts law education and legal professions. Both expressed their hope for further exchanges in the future.
