Ives Gandra Martins, Justice of the Superior Labor Court, and the Delegation Pay a Visit to the Judicial Yuan
A delegation led by Ives Gandra Martins, Justice of the Superior Labor Court, visited the Judicial Yuan and was received by Deputy Secretary-General Lin-Lun Huang, accompanied by Director-General of the Department of Judicial Administration Yu-Shun Kao. Deputy Secretary-General Huang first introduced the judicial system in Taiwan, as well as the roles and responsibilities of the Judicial Yuan to the guests. He further expressed that Taiwan seems to have more similarities with Brazil in judicial systems than with Japan and Korea. Justice Martins responded by introducing Brazil’s judicial system, and he added that both Brazil and Taiwan face the problems of overloaded cases and judges being overwhelmed with work. Both sides wish there would be more opportunities for communication in the future. The visit was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
